  1. Pioneer

From the recording Pioneers of a Heavenly Way

Lyrics

Vessels apprehended for this testimony
Who are those who make up this history
Breaking away, cleaving through.
Striving for something more, something new.
Gripped by something that may not be clear.
More that eye can see, or ear can hear.

There is this sense of destiny.
A calling to something yet to be.
Something far greater than this world
Inside a voice speaks mysterious yet understood words

This may sound exciting, enticing, enlightening
But also daunting, lonely and frightening
Logic gives way to fools hearts that are willing
Reason gives way to unyielding compelling

Lead us beyond from what is known to the unknown.
Make us hungry, dissatisfied of where we are, and what we own
Our hearts are stirred, but path unclear. That is the lot of a pioneer
An inward cost of perplexity. We clearly saw, now we barely see.
Once again to this familiar place, of unfamiliar steps, in a strange time and space
A soaring hope, yet a twinge of fear. That is the lot of a pioneer.

A battle, a power,an Earthward drawing.
By a greater power to heaven we cling.
God’s looking for those have a glimpsed a greater scene,
Once again stirred, we leave for realms unseen

Gods will not just let things be.
Strangers and pilgrims still search for a city
A city that’s centered in the heavenlies.
We’re called to break fresh ground, and make discoveries
